no real thoughts on this, except that in the short looping video on the website, the grey haired gent that appears for a second riding in the "car" looks remarkably like the israeli politican yair lapid [image: 1751721646590-21426704-4681-4ab4-be85-0a688bbee51f-image.png]

last nights dinner, was carpaccio dressed with olive oil and arugula, stuffed grapevine leaves, (made by a druze woman who sells her stuff at the market), some whole grain bread, and a bottle of prosecco. nothing particularly american i must say, but a nice meal anyway. happy the war is over for now. alaska in two weeks.

On a much smaller scale...Years ago the a/c compressor went out on our minvan. It seized up, causing the most god-awful noise when the engine was running--whether the a/c was in use or not. Replacing wasn't worth the cost...and even taking it out was gonna be a chore. We were able to buy a shorter serpentine belt and just bypassed the damn thing. Traded it in, in the fall...

@LuFins-Dad Yes. I will have all pizzas now delivered to my shop up the street, and tip myself 1000% every time, making all future income tax free. This feels like a rock solid plan. @mark Two of my (adult) kids have bought cars this way from them this year. So far, both very positive experiences.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2025/07/03/trump-tax-bill-china-artificial-intelligence-energy/ China to win the AI arms race ... the argument goes that because the bill cuts clean/renewable energy subsidies, that will lead to the U.S. developing 344 Gigawatts of new electricity generation capacity over the next ten years, handicapping the American AI industry, ceding the win to China that is taking the "all of the above" approach to energy development and adding new electricity generation capacity like crazy.

Our band played this song and our lead guitar sang it. As you can hear, nothing in the way of keyboards going on in it and i provided high harmonies and the damm clap clap througout the song on my synth. It felt like a 10 minute song that would never end, not my favorite to play.

is it reasonable or supportable to think that Harris's budget would have led to a lower deficit than Trump's? It is not generally supportable to claim that Harris’s budget would have led to a lower deficit than Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”, at least based on current nonpartisan projections. Here’s why: Independent Analyses The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), which scores both Republican and Democratic proposals, estimates: Trump's plan (OBBBA): ~$3.3 trillion added to the deficit over 10 years. Harris’s plan: ~$3.95 trillion added to the deficit over the same period (after subtracting offsetting savings). CRFB is nonpartisan and uses consistent methodology for both candidates’ proposals. 🧮 What's Driving the Numbers? Trump’s Bill: Big tax cuts. Modest new spending (compared to Harris). Few offsetting cuts. Harris’s Proposals: More spending (e.g., health care expansion, climate programs). Larger tax increases on wealthy and corporations. Net result: higher spending than revenue = larger deficit. Could It Theoretically Be Lower? Only under highly optimistic assumptions, such as: Stronger economic growth than projected from Harris’s investments. Full implementation and enforcement of tax increases with no revenue leakage. Additional policy changes not in the published platform. However, those assumptions aren’t reflected in the best-available projections from CRFB, CBO, or the Tax Foundation. Conclusion No, it is not reasonable to believe Harris’s budget would have led to a lower deficit than Trump’s bill—unless you reject mainstream budget analyses or assume radical changes in economic performance. Based on neutral estimates, Trump’s plan adds less to the deficit than Harris’s.

The scenario has been around for some time. It is plausible - particularly if Moscow chooses to become more like North Korea as opposed to the current ersatz Imperial Russia - although why would China take that route when it can ensure Russia remains very much its junior partner through economic means? Agree with Mik though, if such a scenario were to play out, the nuclear threshold would be crossed very quickly.

My extremely important opinion here is I travel about 5-6 times per year and I have found renting from Alamo has been a consistently good experience. One time I had to use Budget or another company and it was t3h sux0rs.
